I’m Monika Zhořová, a pastel artist from Brno, Czech Republic, a translator of technical texts, and a mother of two wonderful sons. Inspired by the intimate moments I share with my own children, I create pastel paintings that capture the tender bond between mother and baby, transforming fleeting, precious seconds into timeless works of art that families can cherish forever.
My Mission
I see birth as a miracle.
As an initiation.
As a process that can be empowering, transformative, and beautiful for a woman.
And I wish to share this perspective with the world.
Pastel
Pastel is a wonderful medium — full of life, fast, and spontaneous, much like me, which may be why it suits me so well. What I love most is the direct contact: touching the artwork with my fingers, shaping forms, colors, light, and shadow, much like a sculptor modeling their work by hand. No other medium allows this kind of intimacy.
I want every woman, when she looks at her painting, to see the hidden superpower, beauty, and love within herself.
